Whatever You Might Do

© 2003, lyrics by Michael Strand

  1. You could find yourself in trouble, could be dumped by one you love
Or get fired – not too subtle – so you think your life is rough.
You might be loosing your conviction, you might loose your house and friends,
And you think you have to battle right until the bitter end.

But whatever you might do, and whatever you might say,
Uphold your love for humankind, and live with peace inside.

  1. You might think your life is boring and you want to spice it up,
So you get your engines roaring, all set up to get a buzz.
You might start with blazing colours, then you grind it to the bone.
Sometimes when you’re trouble-bound, you strain it till a fuse is blown.

But whatever you might say, whatever you might do,
Uphold your love for humankind, cause fate just might catch up with you.

  1. Bliss and joy, or full of sorrow, melancholy, harmony,
By yourself – see no tomorrow, or enjoy good company,
In whatever situation or direction you might drive,
Trust that things will work as planned on the other side of life.

So whatever you might do, and whatever you might say,
Uphold your love for humankind, and live with peace inside.

  1. You could hide behind religion and consider throwing stones.
You might fall for superstition, walking in a twilight zone.
So you call upon the angels or you call your higher self,
You might call the spirits, or a god above for help.
But whatever you might do, for whatever you might pray,
Uphold your love for humankind, and live with peace inside.
